Below you will find answers to many common questions about Phi Gamma Delta 2021 Giving Day.
What is the Phi Gamma Delta Giving Day?
This is Phi Gamma Delta's 2021 Day of Giving. This 36-hour event was created to engage undergraduate members, graduate brothers, parents and friends and encourage them to make a gift to the Fraternity or Educational Foundations.
The event starts on Friday, April 30, at 12:00 am ET and ends on Saturday, May 1 (Founders Day), at 12:00 pm ET. During the giving period, there will be different matches, challenges and leaderboards to give you the opportunity to make your donation go even further. Show your support and help your chapter or colony win prizes throughout the event.
What areas can I support when making a gift on Giving Day?
You will have the option to make your donation go to the Educational Foundation, Foundation of Canada or to the Fraternity.
Gifts that are made to the Educational Foundations will support the educational and charitable purposes of Phi Gamma Delta, its undergraduate brothers and its chapters. This includes the Leadership Institute, alcohol programming, academic scholarships, mental health programming, sexual assault prevention training, etc.
Gifts made to the Fraternity can be used to support the staff, maintenance of Headquarters, updates and hosting our website and cover other costs not included in the grant from the Foundation.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
During Giving Day 2021 you will have the option to donate to the Educational Foundation or directly to the Fraternity. The Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. If you make your donation to the Educational Foundation, your gift will be tax-deductible. Gifts made to the Fraternity are not tax-deductible.
What is my gift going toward?
Gifts that are made to the Fraternity will be going towards headquarters maintenance and staffing, Fraternity events and other items not covered by the grant from the Foundation. Gifts made to the Foundation will help fund things like the Leadership Institute, Alcohol programming, Academic Scholarships, Mental Health programming, Sexual Assault Prevention and Hazing Prevention.
Will I receive a receipt?
You will receive an email confirmation receipt almost immediately after making your gift. If you need a physical receipt for any reason you can request one after the event.
Can I make my gift recurring?
You are not able to make a recurring gift through this platform, but anyone wanting to join our Persistence Club can find more information here. You will be able to set up your gift to occur on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
Can I make multiple gifts at the same time?
Yes. When on the donation page you will see clickable text under the dollar amounts that says "add another gift to your donation". If you select that it will give you the school and fund designations options again.
